Established in 2003, Otsuka Beijing Research Institute, referred to as OBRI, is a wholly-owned enterprise invested by Japan’s Otsuka pharmaceutical Co Ltd, mainly engaging in clinical research and application for new drug.

    Its mission is to ensure patients and doctors in China to use the new health products developed by Otsuka in a quicker, more effective and more correct way. Meanwhile, Otsuka will strictly follow the ICH-GCP and regulations of clinical medicines trials in China and, going line with international laws and regulations. On the other hand, Carrying on international multi-center clinical trials according to international laws, Otsuka will conduct clinical research and registration of new drugs business by working closely with Japan, South Korea and other neighboring countries and regions.

    OSRI is a new drug research and development center set up by Japan's Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd through Otsuka (China) Investment Co Ltd in August 2008. Registered capital of $5.1 million with 20 employees. Focusing currently on the development on anti-infective drugs and the exploration of neurodegenerative research-based drugs, Otsuka(Shanghai) is planning to cooperate with more China’s research centers to carry on the research and development over anti-cancer drugs and related technology.
